Overview

Jack is a taximan in a city that never sleeps - or forgives. Every night, he drives through its rain-slicked streets, picking up and dropping off the souls that drift through its shadows. Some are ordinary - the tired office worker, the worried mother, the drunk father trying to get home. Others are anything but. Through his windshield, Jack sees it all: the addict's trembling hands, the laughter of lovers, the silence of the lonely. Once in a while, though, something darker slips into his back seat - a man with blood on his cuffs, a woman who never quite meets his eyes. And sometimes - though he'd never say it out loud - Jack wonders if he's driven passengers who aren't entirely human. An angel. A demon. A ghost. These are his stories.
