Overview

Rejoice in Jesus's love by reading together this story of Easter, a story that inspires hope and reflection. Before there was the Easter bunny or baskets filled with treats, there was a gentle man named Jesus who showed the world his love for all. Richly detailed illustrations are perfect for young listeners. Read-aloud text is crafted for experienced older children and adult storytellers. Grandparents will create beloved Easter memories by reading to grandchildren. Wonderful gift for every Christian family that wishes to embrace the true meaning of Easter. Thicker pages than a regular storybook to allow for reading over and over again without traditional wear and tear from kiddos. Richly illustrated keepsake book with hardcover intended for families and children of all ages. Easter traditions are included at the end of the story. The perfect Easter basket gift for your little boy or girl to learn about the life of Jesus. Add this beautiful story to our companion title, The First Christmas: The Story of Jesus, for a wonderful, two-story telling of the birth and life of Jesus.

Author Information

When Phyllis Mellon was about five years old, her parents let her hold an egg in her hands to watch her first baby chick hatch. They called it ""pipping,"" and because she grew to love caring for their family's hens and chicks, she became known as Pippa. Today Pippa still celebrates all the rites of springtime - and loves writing about Spring and Easter for children. She has little spare time, but when Pippa does find a moment, she enjoys practicing the art of pysanky - intricately decorating Easter eggs in a traditional Ukrainian method using waxes and dyes. (psssst! Pippa Mellon is actually a pen name for the Cottage Door Press team who worked on this book.) Federica Frenna was born in Agrigento, Sicily. After earning a degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, she began attending various workshops and started to work as a professional illustrator. She is now featured in many publications and works with various publishers. She enjoys illustrating all kinds of stories and tales, especially books that contain nature, animals, adventure and magic! Cottage Door Press is an independent publisher of high-quality children's books. Our books are designed to spark curiosity in the littlest readers and fan the flames of lifelong learning. We understand children deserve our respect. That's why we always select artwork and stories that encourage caregivers to ""read up"" to their little ones--exploring interests together, learning together, and giving their young minds room to grow. We also believe in creating stories that reflect the boundless possibilities of all children. We hope to create books that inspire little ones to connect, encourage them to dream, give them cause to celebrate, and allow them to see themselves beautifully reflected in the stories they read. To bring these beautiful stories to life, our diverse and talented staff collaborates with authors and illustrators from all backgrounds and nationalities. We have also partnered with multicultural brands and literacy organizations to make sure our books reflect and reach as many little ones as possible.
