He was previously working at Dyal Singh College (DSC), University of Delhi. He obtained his doctorate (Ph.D) in Economics from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. He also qualified UGC NET-JRF and SLET and was awarded junior and senior research fellowship from University Grants Commission, New Delhi, for his doctoral work. He has published several books and research papers in refereed journals and has done more than six major research projects from ICSSR, MHRD, NIAP-ICAR and Delhi University.
