David B. Gracy II is the Governor Bill Daniel Professor in Archival Enterprise, School of Information, University of Texas at Austin; a Fellow of the Texas State Historical Association; and a Certified Archivist. Eighteen years after beginning his archival career in the Texas State Archives, Gracy returned as Texas State Archivist (1977–1986).
