Mrs. Steverson is a retired Catholic school teacher from upstate New York who taught middle school in parochial schools in both the state of New York and the state of Oregon. She also taught public, high school in Battleground, Washington. Following the death of Mr. Steverson in 1999, Mrs. Steverson attempted to honor his memory by reaching out to the troubled youth he cared for and helped so much as a New York State Trooper by becoming a substitute teacher for Rochester City Schools in the Youth and Justice Department. Herein, and up until a few years ago, she taught in the Monroe County jails, detention centers and correctional facilities. The Steversons were married for 40 years, 9 months and 22 days. They raised 7 highly successful children who graduated from the following colleges: SUNY College of Brockport; SUNY College of Oneonta, Masters in English Literature; Harvard Law School JDs [Several]; Siena College Loudonville [Summa Cum Laude]; St. John Fisher College; Rochester Institute of Technology; University of Colorado; Colorado State University, Masters in Data Analytics.
