Overview

Imagine a shocking secret kept for over 75 years suddenly surfacing in today's world. If the secret isn't resolved, the results could be the loss of millions of lives, potentially a war in a distant Asian theater again, and worldwide embarrassment for the United States. This is the dilemma Pete Edwards and Dana Rudin face when an unthinkable secret is discovered in the vaults of the Pentagon. Dana, an Air Force colonel, is under orders to find a device with devastating power that was lost in August 1945. A personnel search reveals only one man in the Pentagon has been to the suspected area. Pete is called to a top-secret meeting where he learns the awful secret and meets Dana for the first time. Pete, a senior non-commissioned officer, was previously assigned to the area and has local knowledge of the vicinity; however, most of it is only a fifteen-year-old, very vague memory. This begins a whirlwind of activity that stretches across the globe from the Eastern Seaboard to Eastern Asia. Dana uses Pete's knowledge of the area to begin a systematic search for a device that has been hidden for over 75 years. Along the way, they fight internal misinformation, thugs, and intentional disinformation. Dana uses her resources and past training to keep them on the right track. Both Dana and Pete have disappointment and tragedy in their past. They find welcoming solace in each other's company. They, unknowingly, have been looking for each other and are cast together in this world saving adventure. There are, however, strict regulations preventing officer and enlisted fraternization. They could both go to jail and be dishonorably discharged from the Air Force.
