Reviews

A necessary book, one that those who are passionate about music and philosophy have long been awaiting. There is simply nothing like it. - Jerrold Levinson University of Maryland, USA This is an admirable volume, which will be welcomed by established philosophers of music and - especially - by those coming to the subject for the first time. The coverage of topics is ideal, including important contemporary issues as well as judiciously chosen periods and figures from the past, while the contributors range from emerging new talents to the biggest names in the field. This collection is an essential resource for anyone with an interest in the philosophy of music. - Aaron Ridley, University of Southampton, UK
