Her memoir, Tough as Nails, published in 2009, chronicles her experiences. Three days after her graduation, she married Steve, West Point Class of 1980. An Army spouse for decades, she is the very proud mom of an educator, a foster parent, and two Army officers. She respects and admires those who serve, and the spouses and family members who serve as well. Originally from Braintree, Massachusetts, she now lives in Mexico Beach, Florida, where she's the only old lady building sandcastles with her grandkids wearing a Red Sox hat.
