OverviewThis book critically examines the manner in which matters are referred to the Constitutional Council in Cameroon and the challenges faced in such an adventure. The study finds that the referral of matters to the Constitutional Council in Cameroon is marred with challenges. These limitations include: legislative constraints, the short time frame for referral of electoral litigations, and the limitation as to the authorities with locus standi to refer cases to this body. As such, the recommendation is that the doors to the Constitutional Council in Cameroon should be open to everyone and not limited to certain authorities. Equally, the time frame of 72 hours provided to file petitions before the Constitutional Council in post-electoral litigations should be extended.
