Overview

The Reason You Drink is a bedtime book for parents facing the reality that sometimes their little bundle of joy isn't always a good time. Parenting isn't all fun and games... sometimes it can drive you to drink! This subversive and brutally honest book exposes the true frustration of parenting, giving moms and dads (new, old, grand, and expecting) a much-needed chance to laugh and commensurate about the trials and tribulations of parenting. So, go ahead and have a drink while you read this book! You just shouldn't read it to your children.

Author Information

Melanie Middien enjoyed writing and drawing as a little girl and shared her art with teachers to improve her grades. In college, she designed the mascot for the Kansas City Royals. She moved from Kansas to Los Angeles and worked in advertising, then on TV shows such as King of the Hill and a couple of other TV shows too humiliating to list. In her own opinion, Melanie considers herself funny after having had a glass of wine and has worked as an assistant to famous people whom others do consider funny. She has two teenage sons who find everything about her embarrassing - especially her dancing. She lives in one of the dumpiest yet happiest homes in Utopia, California, and loves visiting animal shelters, traveling across the country in an old RV, meeting new friends, and making campfire pizzas.
