Overview

After the hiatus caused by the disappearance of Peter ""Pooch"" Sanger and the end of ""The Quiet Devil,"" Julia and Thomas's situation and their relationship with Daimon Aston-Roth become increasingly complex. New characters enter the scene, some younger, from the next generation, and others still unknown. Once again, envy, thwarted desires, deceit, speculation, and infidelity arise, resulting in new and increasingly bitter confrontations, even between Julia and Thomas themselves, and ultimately in several more murders. Meanwhile, frustrated by the lack of concrete results he desires, Daimon grows increasingly nervous, impatient, and aggressive, brutally revealing his true intentions. After several unexpected twists, these events lead to a head-on collision, with more than unforeseen consequences, until a final outcome marked by radical changes and a new beginning.
