Reviews

From the reviews: The present book contains 48 authoritative contributions from more than 100 experts on all aspects of purple phototrophic bacteria. ... will be a useful volume for guidance. In summary, this book typifies about biology, biochemistry, biophysics, genetics, eco-physiology and evolution of purple photorophic bacteria. ... This book, as rightfully claimed, shall have a long shelf-life in serving researchers, teachers and students as a reliable resource of references. We strongly recommend this book to all libraries around the world. (Prasanna Mohanty and Sujata R. Mishra, Indian Journal of Experimental Biology, Vol. 47, September, 2009) Advances in Photosynthesis and Respiration Series brings a new comprehensive review of Purple Phototrophic Bacteria. ... In any case the new book has all the qualities to become a new great successor of all the previous reviews of this field ... . I am confident that it will represent a new basic text on anoxygenic phototrophs for many years to come, and it will become a basic source of reference and knowledge for experienced researchers as well as for students ... . (M. Koblizek, Photosynthetica, Vol. 47 (3), 2009)
