OverviewChaminuka is a revered spirit medium of the Shona people. He lives at a time when the Shona people are divided and are ruled by Lobengula, king of the fierce Matabele. They must pay tribute to King Lobengula and will pay with their lives if they rebel. After converting to Christianity, Chaminuka travels throughout the land preaching the gospel of Christ to the Shona clans who still practice ancestral worship. He tells the Shona to convert to Christianity and to prepare for the coming of the Son of man and the kingdom of Christ. His evangelism will incur the wrath of King Lobengula but he is prepared to face a martyr's death.
