OverviewExcerpt from The Production of the Precious Metals: Or Statistical Notices of the Principal Gold and Silver Producing Regions of the World; With a Chapter Upon the Unification of Gold and Silver Coinage The statistical returns of the production and export of gold and silver of the Pacific States and Territories for the year 1868, show a decrease of production compared with 1867 and former years. The total receipts at San Francisco of uncoined bullion from the interior were as follows: From the northern mines, including bullion of Nevada, and some from Idaho and other sources, from the southern mines, total being less than in 1867. The receipts from Washoe, Esmeralda, and Reese river, State of Nevada, which are included in the above, are stated at for 1868, being a decrease of from the yield for 1867.
