I wanted to leave more! What a gorgeous debut novel. The historical setting was so incredible. It transported me to a different time. She got the setting, the time and the language right. What a masterpiece! HEATHER CARLISLE 5 reviews Follow November 7, 2025 A sweet romance story of two sisters who emigrate just after the Titanic disaster. Great characters and setting. Nostalgic and moving. Author InformationJoni Scott is an Australian biochemist and tutor who writes as a hobby. She has five published novels, two contemporary and three historical fiction. After writing her first novel as a gift for her sister, she contracted CRPS and lost the use of her right arm and hand. In 2020, her trip to Italy for treatment resulted in a Covid lockdown. This experience inspired her second novel, The Last Hotel set in France which she wrote with her left hand. Joni recovered to write three more novels, but typing is still a physical challenge.
