5 stars What a delightful and very romantic read. can't remember a book I've read lately that had so many genres in one very well written storyline. Lost love, single parenthood, 2nd chances, surprise family, romance all combine with heartache, laughs, heroes, childhood worship, a circle of loyal friends and major determination. Sounds like a lot right? Well Ms. Clarke combined all that and more in one smooth sailing, very enjoyable read. In fact this reader can't wait to see who's next. I highly recommend grabbing it up and enjoying the read. Great!! This is the second book in this series, and this is Phoenix and Jeannie's journey. Jeannie was the smartest girl in grad school, but one mistake takes her 10-years to come back from. Now as single mom, she struggles with insecurities, she returns to her hometown. Phoenix was voted the most likely to end up in jail and has spent the last 10-years pretending to be dead, but he returns home searching for a place to settle. Phoenix's high school crush was Jeannie, and when they cross paths, she is determined to avoid him, while he is equally determined to be in her life. This is a well written story which has family, friendships, humor, emotions, insecurities, secrets, trust, and love, which leads to an entertaining page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
