Reviews

"Beautiful Tale for Young Readers This is a beautifully designed retelling of a Japanese legend that was new to me. Momotaro shows up as a baby floating down the river in a giant peach. He grows into a hero who delivers his people. In has some interesting parallels to the story of Moses. The pictures and design of the book are perfect for the story being told. It is beautifully done. This story teaches the timeless values of bravery, friendship, and even generosity. Young kids will thoroughly enjoy this one TD Fleming - 5 stars Fantastic! Having spent a few years in Japan, I was ""vaguely"" familiar with the tale of Momotaro and his animal friends, but this children's book really brings the story to life with beautiful illustrations by Satoshi Watanabe and a nice, concise telling of the story by author Mayumi Nakagaki, perfect for younger children. I really liked this story and so did both of my grandkids when I read it to them. Definitely worth five stars! CJaN - 5 Stars A beautiful story My daughter is obsessed with Japanese fairy tales. We read this together. It's a beautiful story. But the illustrations are even more beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Southerngal - 5 stars"
