Author Information

Bill Burke is a retired corporate executive and a freelance writer who has visited many of the locations mentioned in his stories, and he thoroughly enjoyed residing in Persia with his wife before the advent of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini Islamic Revolution and the subsequent downfall of the Shah. He lived and worked in France for one and one-half years during the 1950s while in the U.S. military, and in Iran for one year during the 1970s, working for an American private sector firm. A seasoned traveler, he has visited 51 countries and all of the U.S. states. He earned Associate in Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Business Administration degrees. Mister Burke's published works include one novel, The Persian Caper (BeachHouse Books, 2011), and three nonfiction books: Adventures in the Middle East, Near East, and North Africa (Publish America, 2004), Odyssey from Iran (Publish America, 2007), and My Army Days: Hup, Toop, Threep, Fourp! (Publish America, 2009). His short stories and articles have appeared in national periodicals and regional and local newsletters during the past 20 years.
