OverviewFar better brains than mine have thought about and considered all the various implications and possibilities of failure. If they thought that it could fail they added a duplicate and sometimes even a triplicate. They even considered the human interface implications and wrote a whole rule book to cover every eventuality. If anything could go wrong it was covered. But on Friday night the 27 June one thing they hadn't accounted for happened. Cruising at 35,000 feet the crew on board a Boeing 777 200-LR on route from London to Hong Kong found out what that was. Would the hardware cope with the new challenges about to be thrust upon it and was the human system capable of coping when the local skills were lost?
