Pilzer completed Lehigh University in three years and received his MBA from Wharton Business School in fifteen months. He became Citibank's youngest officer at age twenty-two and its youngest vice president at age twenty-five. He was appointed a professor at New York University at age twenty-four where he taught for two decades and was five times voted best teacher.
