Overview

Sometimes magic is all that can save you. Sophie Mae was lifted from the deprivation of The Dust Bowl in the depression by a magic travelling box. Her past was erased, and her future became limitless but was her past done with her? The residents of the magical house thrive despite the hunger and joblessness taking the country by storm. A growth potion to revive the ailing farmland is the sole project of the magician. But when an informant living within the peaceful estate steals his work Sophie Mae set out to find the thief. Will she manage to find the mole before the secret of the magic is exposed? You'll love this classic Middle-Grade Historical Fantasy for its fast pace and fun characters. Book two in the Sophie Mae Adventures chapter books.

Author Information

As a free-range child, Mason Bell spent most summers and weekends outside where climbing trees and jumping fences. All that energy came from the sweet neighborhood grandmas who always offered thick slices of cake. Each had their own versions of how life used to be back in the day. These stories, combined with the freedom to roam, spurred Mason's creativity and storytelling. Mason Bell lives in Texas with her husband and two cats, Frodo and Fat Hobbit.
