Author Information

Thomas P. Campbell has been the Director and Chief Executive Officer of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, since 2008. Kathryn Calley Galitz is a scholar of European art and author of numerous works on French Neoclassical painting. She works at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, where she has held positions as both a curator and educator, and where she has organized major international exhibitions on artists including Courbet, Turner, and Girodet.
