Author Information

Yen Chu was born in Taichung, Taiwan, before her family immigrated to the U.S. Growing up in Kansas, she spent most of her time at the public library, dis- covering a passion for the sciences, literature, and the arts.As an East Asian, she learned to speak Mandarin Chinese at home and English at school, becoming fascinated with the dichotomy of Asian versus American culture, as if stepping into a different world outside of her home. She immersed herself in the rich and colorful lifestyle of Silver City, N.M. after moving to New Mexico, studying the methods in which people may communicate and connect despite their differences. Now pursuing a BFA in Ceramics alongside a minor in English and Biology, she seeks to understand the networks that link people through the fine arts. Erin Campbell is a full-time Special Education teacher, wife, and mother. She is also an English Major who returned to college almost 20 years after obtaining her first degree in Science with the aspiration of being an English Language Arts teacher. Fantasy is her favorite genre and she especially loves the works of writers such as George RR Martin. Erin loves seeing all of the creativity in her high school student's works and she can't wait to see what new and amazing submissions WNMU students have to offer. Daniel Mahl is a student at WNMU who was born and raised in the town of Silver City New Mexico. He quickly grew to love the varied and beautiful landscapes, as well as the rich history the area provided. He enjoys learning a little bit of everything, whether that be biology, mythology, or even astronomy, his goal is to know at least a little bit about everything he can.
