Author Information

Col. Robert Morgan (USAF, Ret.) was the first 8th Air Force pilot to successfully complete 25 bombing missions over Europe. He completed 26 more missions in the Pacific and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Today, at 82, Col. Morgan still flies and is a popular fixture at air shows all over the world. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina. Ron Powers is the author of numerous books, including Dangerous Water: A Biography of the Boy Who Became Mark Twain, and coauthor of the #1 New York Times bestseller Flags of Our Fathers. He is an Emmy Award winner and the first television critic to win a Pulitzer Prize.
