Overview

Flynn Tazer never expected his summer to turn out like this. He had originally planned on moving in with his uncle and aunt in their snug, little flat; once there, he would enjoy a peaceful respite before heading off to university to pursue his dream of becoming a Scotland Yard Detective, just like his Uncle Ian. Instead, he ends up in a four-level house in the heart of London, surrounded by a top-secret organization called the Shadow Agents. As if that isn't crazy enough, his uncle is their leader, and has been for the last two years. Who are the Shadow Agents? They are a group of men devoted to taking out the villains that not even Mi5 and Mi6 can get their hands on. Their current mission: track down the notorious Mallevilles who have been plaguing the United Kingdom for well over half a decade. All the evidence suggests that the Mallevilles' master plan is about to take place, but the Shadow Agents have yet to discover just what that plan is. Time is ticking, and for the moment, the Mallevilles appear to have the upper hand. His world turned upside down in a matter of hours, Flynn finds himself thrown into the wild world of spies and intrigue. The fate of the United Kingdom lies in the hands of just a few men. It's a summer he'll never forget!

Reviews

This book broke the mold in so many ways, but not just to break the mold. Nothing seemed forced, especially with the characters. ... The diversity in age, personality, and plot line really made it for me; I couldn't put it down! ...I read a book for the characters, and these guys did not disappoint. Each one had these tiny little quirks, faults, and flaws that made them unique and really stand out as well thought out and fleshed out characters. The author's love for her characters really shined through. I won't lie, I'll read this again just to spend more time with them. Words can't even describe my love for this book, and I would recommend it to everybody, even those like me who have no love for spy novels , because this is so much more than that! - Parker, What a ride! From the character witticisms to the beat-the-bad-guys roller coaster, Roethle's debut novel is an enjoyable introduction to what promises to be a warm & quirky series. ... The plot is exciting and fun, but what really sells the story are the characters. From the Liam Neeson-esque Hawk to the ever faithful Leslie, this band of heroes warms the heart. TMC is a clean, fun book with strong Christian themes & characters, which is a double bonus. I'm looking forward to continuing the series... - Adelaide Thorne, author of the Whitewashed trilogy, H. L. Roethle has to be one of the best young debut authors I have ever read. The Malleville Conspiracy surpassed all expectations and made my reading life so enjoyable today. ... Honestly, just do yourself a favour and read this beccause it's one of the best mystery/detective books I have ever read. - Nathaniel, A really well-written book with lovely and funny characters! Can only recommend it: ) - Sara, The Malleville Conspiracy [i]s a tale of crime, courage, and friendships. The nefarious Mallevilles are at it again and it is up to the Shadow Agents to stop them once and for all. This book was a lot of fun. ... Roethle wrote it in a format the switched the focus from good guys to bad guys as if you were watching a movie. She did this well and I always looked forward to when it was the villain's turn. The Malleville Conspiracy was a fun tale and a testimony to the importance of faith in all walks of life. Looking forward to the sequel! - Sara Francis, author of The Terra Testimonies trilogy,
