OverviewBorn on June 21, 1918, Art Goddard: The Lion Tamer-a humble man in spirit, a gentle man at heart-grew up in New England, lived through the depression, fought for his country in WW II under Patton, liberated the Nazi Death Camp in Dachau, and was awarded the Bronze Star. Art settled in Houston, Texas, where he was an educator for 40-plus years. He was called to educate-a calling he answered and took very seriously throughout his lifetime. Every teacher carries the desire to help educate a future President. This is something Art accomplished in one of his 8th grade classes, as an instructor for President George W. Bush.
