Overview

Lyle the lonely lion has no friends because he is shy. His days are filled with boredom as he roams around all by himself. One day, however, he becomes lucky, and meets an outgoing cricket named Zen. At first, Lyle wasn't too sure about Zen, but Zen, opened his eyes (and shut his eyes) to a fun new game Lyle learned to play called Hide And Seek. Christen Conrad is a writer who loves to write poetry and loves to write about animals. The Lion And The Cricket Play Hide And Seek is her second book, a children's rhyming picture book, from her Forever Zoo Friends Series. It is in rhyme because she feels the rhyming verses are fun to read and listen to and will help children learn to read and love to read. Her poetry is creative and inspiring for children and she enjoys helping kids focus on making friends, being nice to others, not giving up, and learning to admire themselves through their strengths, uniquenesses, and individuality. She also hopes her books will promote self-esteem, and anti-bullying. Christen's goals are to reach all kids with her books. However, she has a special heart for children who struggle with reading, learning, or anxiety. Christen was very shy when she was young and had a hard time making friends.
