Overview

29 years before Kieran and his comrades overthrew their tyrant leader Orla, the land of Arden went through another time of change. In a city with only women, masculinity was feared, not forgotten. The government was run by a group of four ladies who stopped at nothing to convince their citizens that life in 4029 was utopian. Even if it meant ignoring those being born ""defects"", which was a scarily increasing occurance in every new generation. Children like Mara, who had these imperfections, were hidden away and blocked from society's resentful watch. With only one eye, Mara could still see issues in the world that the rest couldn't. And she could also see the solutions. When she got accepted into a prestigious university for gifted students, oppurtunities arose to make change. Unfortunately, to have her massive potential viewed by those at the top, Mara would have to not just be seen as one of the many deformed outcasts. So, in a fight to be equal, she forged a mask, both physical and emotional. The young genius used her new cover for appearance and feelings, but also as part of an entirely new persona. Mara, unwanted by the world, would be forgotton. But her new name would always be remembered by the citizens of Arden. Whether for legacy or infamity, did not matter. It would be Orla.
