The light at the end of the bowl

Overview

The light at the end of the bowl is a deeply personal and emotional collection of poetry that explores the hidden landscapes of the mind. Through raw honesty and lyrical grace, this book journeys through the complexities of anxiety, depression, trauma, healing and self-discovery. Each poem is a window into moments often left unspoken, whispered fears, fragile hopes, and quiet triumphs. With compassion and vulnerability, the author paints a portrait of what it means to live with mental health struggles while also reaching for the light, even in the darkest corners. This collection is not just a reflection - it is a companion. For anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed, isolated, or in search of meaning, The light at the end of the bowl offers solidarity, comfort and the reminder you are never alone.

Author Information

Living in an ordinary house with three older siblings and both parents, everything seemed well on the surface. There were two parents, older siblings, and even two dogs. His father was a college lecturer, while his mother took care of the family. Yet, beneath the appearance of normality, not all was well. His father would disappear without explanation, leaving behind questions that never seemed to be answered. When he was around two or three years old, one particular memory imprinted itself deeply. His father had packed a bag and was sitting in the car, engine running but not moving. Even at such a young age, he sensed something was wrong. With great effort, he managed to open the front door and ran up the road, screaming, “Daddy, don’t go.” The memory of that moment has never left him, marking the first profound experience of abandonment, an ache that has followed him throughout his life
