Mark Connelly is that tried and true clich.: a lawyer who turned to writing as 'a much less demanding and less harmful way to spend one's time.' Mark is a Campaigns Director at GetUp! Australia (www.getup.org.au), an online community-based activist organisation of 400,000 members. He previously worked on John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Mark's work has appeared in the short-lived Manic Times paper and website, New Matilda and the online policy magazine, Insight. In addition to his law degree from NYU Law, Mark holds a Master in Public Policy from Sydney University. Mark is American, however, growing up in New York allowed him to escape the general prohibition on irony put in place under the Reagan Administration. He currently lives by the beach in Sydney, with his very patient wife, Charmayne.
