I cannot remember a time when music was not extremely important in my life. I began writing poems and melodies in my teens. I was particularly interested in God songs. I had little religious or musical training, and yet, the desire persisted. I simply prayed for guidance, trusting the Lord to lead me. As an adult, I also became vitally interested in education and the learning process. I followed a career in Christian education. In the process, I learned that music and drama reach out to every learning style. I continued to write poems, skits and songs for use in class, chapel, and church. My goal was to teach God's Word in a meaningful way to help students and others in their understanding and their daily walk. Although I had no formal musical education, I turned to a respected colleague, Will Goldstein, who had a great deal of musical training and talent. His contributions to all of my books have been indispensable. I thank God for seeing us through.
