Overview

After receiving an unexpected inheritance of jewellery including a rare Spoon Ring, Zelah Trevear has agreed to go to Cornwall to find out more about its history. But knowing that she may have to face discovering her own unknown history. In the middle of a glorious summer the Maze team takes a month off, heads to south Cornwall and, staying in a beautiful unique house on the edge of a cliff above the sea, Maggie, Nick and Zelah begin an investigation. They soon find that that story of the ring is shrouded in tales of theft, betrayal and murder. And it isn't all in the past. Zelah knows that she was abandoned as a baby and brought up by a local vicar and his family, whom she came to hate. But who was her real family? Her research and investigation take her to Ireland, where she finds her real family, who are not pleased to see her.
