Reviews

""Football is about moments, the things that stay with you forever. David Marples captures the moments that make Nottingham Forest perfectly - your bookshelf isn’t complete without The History Boys."" -- Nick Miller * The Athletic * ""An excellent and thorough rundown of some of the best moments in Forest history, expertly told by those involved and woven together in David’s inimitable, accessible and joyous style. Reading this book made me even prouder to support Nottingham Forest. Learning the stories behind the moments that matter so much to us is a thoroughly enriching experience. A fantastic concept expertly executed and illustrated perfectly by those who did what so many of us dreamed of - scoring great goals for a great football club. What a joy to relive so many memorable moments in Forest history as well as learning the stories behind the goals that shaped our club. David’s book plunders the rich history of Forest goals and perfectly blends his own poignant prose with the voices of those behind the moments that mattered to those of us who love the club."" -- Matt Davies-Adams * commentator and Totally Football podcast host * ""Superb, from the first page to the least - a must-read for any Forest fan."" -- Daniel Taylor * The Athletic * ""Here is a writer with a sense of perspective and a true understanding of a football club whose present is perpetually infuriated by its rich and romantic past."" * Left Lion Magazine * ""Given that it is 28 years since the club's last major trophy, Forest fans could be forgiven for forgetting some of the more glorious chapters of their history. Marples manages to convey the labour of love that supporting a fallen giant entails, and how much it says about your character, telling the world what a good, loyal person you are."" * Backpass * ""Digs into a wide span from the sixties right up until 2017. Gives younger supporters, who missed out on the peak years under Clough, an opportunity to read about our own moments. Offers up a few smiles of recollection for those who have only ever known Forest as a plodding Championship side. Would heartily recommend you treat yourself to a copy or gift it to a relative or friend."" * ForzaGaribaldi.com *
