Tarot is not New Age. Tarot is Old Age. Ancient people of many cultures have used these symbols to explain the world around them for thousands of years. Tarot is not about divining the future but about accepting who you are in the present. Humans exist on four levels of consciousness: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Examining these levels with each card brings profound personal revelations and enlightenment on the journey through life. Each image speaks to a deeper part of the psyche in a language without words but impacts the subconscious level. Every card represents part of the greater Self in the journey along life's path, whether in the present, a past lesson learned, or a pattern that will repeat going forward. This book is based on the Thoth (Crowley) Tarot deck, which can be as intimidating as it is rich in symbolic language, but it is not necessary to use that deck. The book can also benefit meditation without a deck by using the questions at the end of each card as a source for your journaling experience. Each page captures the essence of the archetypical language and speaks to the deeper unconscious self.
