The castle estate is so dark, cold, and foreboding, his architect friend Haemish discourages him from doing a conversion, stating that no one will likely stay there. The entourage begin to have disturbing visions of malevolent previous heirs. As time passes these visions manifest into physical apparitions . They psychologically torture the inhabitants, which leads to death and despair within .Written in the styles of Henry James, Emily Bronte, and Daphne Du Maurier.
