Maybe you're a first time homeowner or maybe you've just moved into your very first apartment; maybe you've inherited a castle in a far away place. No matter how or why you find yourself needing or wanting to make repairs, renovations or to simply make a few changes to help you claim or reclaim your space, as the old saying goes, Be it ever so (or not so) humble, there is no place like home. This humble guide started out as a series of white papers created for various media outlets, which generated more and more content requests from journalists working for such media outlets as; BobVila.com, OldHouseJournal.com, ThisOldHouse.com, journalists working for The Chicago Tribune, First For Women magazine in print and even the well-known Zyrtec pharmaceutical website, which wanted to offer help for people with allergies wanting to safely do their own home improvement projects. Originally Mr. Baakrime helped to create two sound stages for NBC Studios out at Six Flags Great Adventure. Who would have thought that a few years later this first exposure to construction media would set the stage for more media opps. In any event, most of the information shared in this guide has appeared in the above national media, with the exception of some personal tips gleaned from Mr. Baakrime's experience while he was the maintenance engineer at an upscale waterside community in his early days.
