Reviews

Beautifully written and with supernatural elements guaranteed to chill you to the bone. This compelling novel will snatch you up and not put you down again until you’ve finished -- Rebecca Netley Chilling, claustrophobic and creepy as hell. Loved it! -- Jo Jakeman The Grief House is a sublime novel. Atmospheric and beautiful, it will chill your blood and haunt your dreams long after you turn the final page -- Tom Wood A compulsive, atmospheric thriller, Thorne's bewitching prose had me hooked from the first page -- Anna Bailey A brooding, haunting and deeply heartfelt thriller that kept me turning the pages long into the night -- Chris Whitaker, winner of the CWA Gold Dagger and Theakstons Crime Novel of the Year Award An emotional, constantly tense, scary and yet ultimately utterly human story that pulled me in and wrung me out. One of my absolute books of the year -- Gytha Lodge Dark and haunting, this is a book to read at night with the curtains drawn. Beautifully written, I didn't want the story to end -- Sarah Ward Dark and creepy and deeply satisfying, this will be lapped up by fans of both Susan Hill and Sarah Pinborough -- Kevin Wignall Steeped in mysteries and floodwaters alike, the supposed sanctuary of The Grief House is anything but... With beautifully drawn characters, a perfectly realised atmosphere and a plot that won't let go, this is a terrific read -- Alison Littlewood The Grief House grips from page one. With lyrical writing and a tense, claustrophobic atmosphere that builds with the floodwater, this story of secrets and loss will keep you up at night as you race to the finish -- Amanda Jennings I dare you to step inside The Grief House ... a tense supernatural thriller, possessed by the spirits of a dark past. I was hooked and haunted from the very first page! -- A. J. West Rebecca Thorne's The Grief House is a truly original story, with a compelling, in-depth exploration of grief, trauma and healing. I was totally gripped by the gradual, skilful revelation of Blue's story, and the ways in which her mother's obsessions marked her life. The setting is masterfully depicted, with the tension rising in tandem with the flood waters threatening the house. An absolute page-turner, this is a must for thriller fans -- Cailean Steed
