Her illustrations for a short story won first prize in a UNESCO sponsored competition, which she travelled to Japan to collect in 2005. In addition to her two books for Andersen, Burger Boy and Footprints in the Snow, she has illustrated Tell Me a Story, Mummy (Macmillan) and A Friend For All Seasons (Simon and Schuster). Peter Bently was born in Tidworth and attended Balliol College, Oxford, where he studied for a BA Hons in Modern Languages. He has two children, Theo (8) and Tara (5), and now lives in Devon.
