Bill O'Neill has authored many books on trivia and random facts and stands as somewhat of an expert in this field! Bill's writing is so infectiously interesting and entertaining and so full of facts most people have not encountered that even if you are not a sports fan, this book about Soccer is entertaining and buffs up your knowledge. Bill's sense of humor is evident in his Introduction - 'Soccer is the most popular game in the world. Its governing body, FIFA, claims that over 240 million people play the game, and there is no doubt that the major games attract huge audiences worldwide. FIFA has always aimed to make soccer a genuinely worldwide sport, and in that aim, it has succeeded. Soccer had humble and slightly confusing beginnings, and its appeal to the masses in Europe where soccer developed was and is without question.
