Author Information

Dr. Charlie Mitchell is an associate professor of theater at the University of Florida, where he teaches history and performance. He is a graduate of Boston University and the University of Colorado-Boulder. Charlie has worked as an actor and director for a variety of theaters in New York, Chicago, Gainesville and Baltimore, where he was an artistic associate with the award-winning Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. He is the author of Shakespeare and Public Execution, co-editor of Zora Neale Hurston: Collected Plays and a contributor and editor of Theatrical Worlds, the first open-source introductory theater textbook. He is also the author of several plays, including The Snow Queen and The Report .
