Author Information

Betsy Applebaum was diagnosed in 2011. While recovering, she found that she enjoyed writing her blog called A Breast Cancer Journey. (http: //nanathebrave.blogspot.com) Despite the subject, her blog often took a humorous tone and sometimes departed from breast cancer, delving instead into opinions about life experiences. Friends and strangers alike seemed to enjoy reading the blog, which led the author to consider writing a book about the recovery process that celebrates the wisdom of girlfriends. Her writing experiences began when her children were pre-school age. Efforts then consisted of free lance articles for various newspapers, video scripts, and publishing a series of Welcome brochures for newcomers to Florida. Eventually she entered the business arena as a Certified Financial Planner. Now retired, Applebaum lives in Lady Lake, FL with her husband, Ed, and is mom to three grown children and grandmother of four. She's an avid tennis enthusiast, playing at least four days a week, and enjoys golf and bridge as well.
