Reviews

'Zareen's story is inspiring and enlightening. She has faced tragedy and risen above it. She has created a business that positively impacts everyone it touches. She leads with grace, femininity and determination. In every way, Zareen is someone who I find to be an ideal mentor and example of what we are capable of. Read this book if you want to elevate your mind and your heart.' - Daniel Priestley, CEO, Dent Global, and author of Entrepreneur Revolution 'The Gift is an invitation, a challenge and a testament. It beckons us to join Zareen Roohi on her journey of compassion, courage with exuberance and love. It serves as a reminder that amidst life's tribulations, we possess the power to create waves that extend far beyond our imagination. As you embark on this poignant journey through Zareen's writings, may you be inspired, uplifted and compelled to embrace the gift of making a difference.' - Baroness Manzila Uddin, Vice Chair, All Party Parliamentary Group on Population Development and Reproductive Rights, and the Women and Work Committee; Chair, All Party Parliamentary Group on Metaverse and Web 3 'This is the story of an awe-inspiring mother driven to improve our planet and the lives of all its daughters. It's also a story about men: what it is to be the father, husband or son of such an amazing woman. To be sat down as a man with open eyes and ears to understand the harsh realities of period poverty, the healing power of tourmaline for endometriosis, brilliant entrepreneurship in the face of discrimination, and the power of love to find diamonds in the pieces of a broken heart.' - Brian Ballantyne, author of Confessions of a Working Father, co-founder, Men for Inclusion, and former Senior Program Manager - Inclusion & Diversity, Amazon 'In a time when the world hungers for stories that will help us shape a new future, The Gift delivers a profound message of resilience and love. What sets this book apart is its ability to transcend the confines of a conventional autobiography. Zareen's words are enlightened by her multifaceted experience as a visionary entrepreneur, scholar and philanthropist. Her experiences and insights are not limited to any one sphere but encompass business, charity and philanthropy, and the universal pursuit of becoming a force for good. Her story is a testament to the indomitable spirit within us all, waiting to be ignited by the spark of will, inviting readers from all walks of life to reflect on their own journeys. This book is more than just a collection of words; it is a call to action, an invitation to harness our pain and a reminder that our lives can be a gift to the world.' - Jeannie McGillivray, co-founder and CEO, Remote.online, tech entrepreneur, author and investor 'This book is a true testament to a mother's unbound love for her child and how grief can be channelled to fuel positive change. I can only imagine the strength it took for Zareen to achieve everything she has in her daughter's memory but also that it took to put these words to paper, bringing Halimah's vision to life. Halimah would be very proud of what her mother and family have achieved. I know first-hand how difficult it can be to navigate this world as a woman, which makes what Zareen has achieved extraordinary. This book will serve as inspiration to anyone wanting to create a better world, and also offers support and strength for those that have suffered untimely grief.' - Nasreen Potter, CREWS Regional Director, EMEA, Netflix
