Sometimes it's good to be reminded what life was like in the seventies. No mobile phones, 45 records for music, wrap dinner dresses and flared trousers. And young people growing up in the shadow of a war that had deeply affected their parents' lives. Although long, this book is packed with story. Ghosts of the past haunt every page, as the heroine, Jane, searches out the secrets of a respectable upper class British family who are hiding a terrible crime that has damaged all of their lives. But mostly this is a beautiful love story between two traumatised young people who find healing by helping each other come to terms with their past. I enjoyed every word of it.
