After bleeding, let the horse have four ounces of cream of tartar and lenitive electary; which may be given every other day for a week, to cool the blood, and open the body; and then give nitre three ounces a day, for three weeks, or a month; and anoint the buds and swellings with the following ointment twice a day. TAKE TAKE ointment of elder four ounces, An dintoil of turpentine two ounces, sugar nbtufj, r of lead half an ounce, whir.e vitriol powdered two drams; mix together in a gallipot. The buds sometimes by this method are dispersed, leaving only little bald spots, which the hair loon covers again. When they break and run, if the matter be thick and well digested, they will soon be well; but in order to confirm the cure, and to disperse some little lumps which often remain for some time on-the skin without hair, give the liver Liver of of antimony for a month two ounces om-l7 a-day for a fortnight, aad then one a mended, day for the other fortnight: by following this method, a farcy which affects only the small vessels, may be stopped in a week or ten days, and soon after totally eradicated. When the farcin affects the larger when the blood vessels, the cure is more difficult; lai;ger but let it always be attempted early: affeaed, therefore, on the plate, thigh, or neck the cure veins appearing corded, bleed immediately on the opposite fide, and apply the following to the corded vein.
