OverviewMy Journey from Kingdom to Kingdom is a true story following my journey from the United Kingdom, embarking on a new life in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the very start of the Covid Pandemic in March 2020. When the rest of the world were staying home to protect themselves, I took a huge gamble and travelled almost 4,000 miles on a one-way ticket to start a new life in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Swapping winter coats and hats, for Abayas and Hijabs, trading a life less than ordinary, for life in a Country which had only recently started to welcome Westerners. In a race against to time to reach my destination before the whole world closed their borders to visitors, I would stop at nothing to ensure my dream became a reality. Not even an inconvenient Border closure nor a refused entry would stop me! My journey will open your eyes to new cultures and new beliefs and will take away the stigma and dispel the myths of what life is like for a single white woman in the Middle East. From the sublime to the truly ridiculous, follow my day-to-day life over my first two years in Saudi Arabia, from my first job as a Nanny, coping with the truly ridiculous demands and daily sagas, to scooping the major prize of becoming an International Governess earning a sublime £110,000 a year, being paid to travel the world in private jets, sailing the Mediterranean Sea in multi-million-pound yachts and living a luxurious lifestyle most can only dream of. Exhilarating highs, and heart-breaking lows, funny and sad, my story has it all. Could you leave the comfort of the life you knew and travel 4000 miles to start a new life in the Middle East, knowing a worldwide Pandemic was looming and you may not see home again for a very long time? Could you risk everything to strive for a new life, abide by new cultures, new beliefs and new rules? Could you? Would you? Climb aboard this magic carpet ride and have your eyes opened to new possibilities, new adventures and a life much less ordinary.
