OverviewRecommended for and by teachers. This is a great book to introduce very young children to the story of the first Thanksgiving and why we celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving holds special significance for many. It brings with it a season for expressing gratitude, gathering with family and friends, and focusing on our blessings. If you're looking for Thanksgiving stories for toddlers and preschoolers this picture book would be of interest. The length of words on each page is appropriate for 3-4 year olds attention spans. The illustrations was so vivid and colorful. The book uses Native American and not Indian. It also has the names of people involved in the first Thanksgiving such as Governor Bradford and Great Native American Leader, Massasoit. I highly recommend this book.
