Marcus Aurelius (AD 121-180) was a Roman emperor and Stoic philosopher. Though his reign was threatened by war and disease, he successfully held the empire together and is associated with the Golden Age of Rome. His Meditations has long been considered one of the greatest books of the era and remains a cornerstone of Western philosophical appreciation of Stoicism. Jaime Lincoln Smith is an Audie-nominated narrator credited on over seventeen titles. An actor based in New York City, he has been featured on Broadway and Off-Broadway as well as on network television and in films. Sarah Naughton is an AudioFile Earphones Award-winning narrator and New York City-based actress, singer, comedienne, and voice-over artist. She began her work in the audiobook industry in high school, recording a few young adult titles with the Syracuse-based company Full Cast Audio. Stephen Graybill is an actor, producer, and award-winning voice-over artist. He was seen on television in The Girls Guide to Depravity, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order, and HBO's The Wire. He also published many short stories, wrote filmscripts, broadcast stories and talks, did a series of lecture tours in the United States and wrote Under Milkwood, the radio play.During his fourth lecture tour of the United States in 1953, a few days after his 39th birthday, he collapsed in his New York hotel and died on November 9th at St. Vincent's Hospital.
