Overview"This is the first publication of the only pictorial record of the British Expedition to Egypt in 1800, in which Napoleon was defeated by Nelson and the British Army. Napoleon had, with his army, a civilian group known as the Savants, learned French men from number of disciplines, mathematicians, geologists, botanists, who were to measure and describe the proposed Colony of Egypt for the French. The landing of the British Army at Aboukir Bay, and then the British Navy, under Nelson at the Battle of the Nile, spoiled Napoleon's plans for the East and for Egypt. This work will appeal to students of the Napoleonic Wars and also to a wider audience interested in this aspect of the British in Egypt. The ""Egyptian Album"" is now in the collection of the National Gallery of Canada." Full Product DetailsAuthor: Marie B.
