He runs New Beginning Christian Counseling with his wife Sherrie. He has a Bachelors Degree in Human Development from Amridge University in Montgomery Alabama and a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University in Overland Park, Kansas. His background in counseling includes serving as an intern Marriage and Family Therapist with the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Office for two and a half years. During this time he counseled individuals, couples and families who were recently released offenders and family members of those involved in the Federal court system.
