Overview

Miss Ebbie Catherine Sullivan is twelve years old in this series, growing up as a young girl in the southern town of Charity Junction during the Great Depression. Her life is the beginning adventure in Charity Junction with her hound dog Blue, her mother Miss Charity Sullivan who was a mail order bride and her father, Newt Sullivan, who is a shoemaker from up North. Times are hard and Miss Ebbie Catherine believes she can (and will) change the world with her pen, if only one story at a time. She writes letters to the world from her front porch swing or her feather bed, Blue always at her side. Her adventures are many and her inquisitive curiosity and unfailing humor land her in more hot water than most people could possibly imagine. After all, she is still just a child. Alongside this series, it continues in The Growing Up Years.
